Acute pancreatitis is rare during pregnancy, incidence is 1–2 per 10,000 pregnancies. The occurrence of acute pancreatitis (AP) during pregnancy poses a challenge for clinicians, as the rarity of this condition may reduce suspicion when faced with acute abdominal pain in pregnancy. This lack of suspicion can lead to delayed diagnosis and management, putting the fetal outcome at risk. Over two years, we had 6 patients of acute pancreatitis with pregnancy, in which five patients had gallbladder stones or sludge and one patient had hyperlipidemia as etiology. In this series, no death was found in the mother but out of 6 cases, one neonate died due to neonatal septic shock and one was spontaneous expulsion in the second trimester. Early and prompt diagnosis, coupled with conservative treatment, has been shown to enhance overall outcomes.
