Chronic nonpuerperal uterine inversion is a highly uncommon condition that very few clinicians have seen. Since 1940, the literature has documented roughly 170 case reports.
Intrauterine fundal submucosal leiomyoma is the most common triggering factor. Chronic NPUI presents a diagnostic and surgical challenge for the gynecologist because of its extremely unusual incidence.
Correct diagnosis based on clinical and diagnostic findings is imperative for a successful outcome. We encountered 36-year-old female with chronic nonpuerperal inversion of the uterus presented with complaints of sudden bouts of bleeding along with a history of abnormal uterine bleeding and vaginal discharge. She was surgically managed with a total laparoscopic hysterectomy as the childbearing was completed and as opted by the patient. She had a quick postoperative recovery and received discharge with positive outcomes.
